Continuing Care Retirement Community

Financial Considerations
Moving to a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) may or may not affect your insurance coverage. It's important to read your explanation of benefits or call your provider for information on how CCRCs fit into your plan.

Commercial Insurance
Commercial Insurance does not cover the fees for CCRC stays; however, a person may need to maintain his medical insurance coverage.

Managed Care Insurance
Managed care insurance companies identify their "network" health systems. Contact your representative to discuss how enrollment in a CCRC may impact reimbursement.

Medical Assistance
A person living in a CCRC will continue to receive medical assistance as long as he meets eligibility.

Medicare
A person living in a CCRC continues to maintain Medicare coverage for both Part A and Part B services.
