Re-Engineering Geriatric Care

The number of older adults in the United States is increasing rapidly, but the number of geriatricians is not. Fewer than 5% of primary care physicians have had at least one hour of training in geriatric care.

With support from the Jewish Healthcare Foundation, the Institute on Aging intends to develop models of primary geriatric care that are:

  • effective
  • feasible for primary care physicians to implement
  • attractive so PCPs will want to implement them
  • fiscally-tenable to deploy
