Edmund M. Ricci, PhD
Associate Director, Evaluation Science
Aging Institute of UPMC Senior Services and the University of Pittsburgh

Dr. Ricci's primary technical areas are evaluation and survey research methods. Recently he has focussed on the areas of minority health disparities, long-term care services and institutions, emergency and disaster medicine, and substance abuse intervention programs.

Dr. Ricci has served as a member of the National Academy of Sciences/National Research Council, committee on emergency medical services, and chair of the Health Services Research Training Study Section of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (1999 to 2003). He also serves as a member of the editorial boards of Journal of Social Work in Public Health, Prehospital and Disaster Medicine and Race and Social Problems. He is a member of the Behavioral Sciences Council, Association of Schools of Public Health, and the scientific advisory committee for the International Resuscitation Research Center. He has been a visiting faculty member at the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Lisbon, Portugal; and the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica. He has also served as a member of the Board of Examiners, Sir Venkateswara University, Andhra Pradesh, India and served as an advisor/instructor, World Health Organization Center, Kobi, Japan.
